Week 24 - Nesting

No, we aren't referring to the bird's nest crazy that's Kiersten's hair. That's just the result of several weeks of quarantine aligned with 24 weeks of pregnancy. We have begun a pretty serious nesting stage. This week, Kiersten loaded and unloaded the dishwasher 3 times in one day. She voluntarily vacuums and dusts the house, something our home in Adrian sorely needs by now, but we still remain at the Hitchingham Hostel. The other residents have grown accustomed to her cleaning frenzies and pitch in as needed to keep her crazy to a minimum.

The nesting would be much better used in Adrian, as a nursery is completely non-existent at the moment. Don't worry, Kiersten has been pinteresting for months, and we started a registry a while ago, but nothing had been purchased when this week began. On Friday, we finally got back to the house to spend some quality time preparing for baby's arrival. We cleaned out the 2nd bedroom and made way in the living room for Brawny to be re-homed. There is certainly plenty to be done, still, but we've at least begun the process. We placed a pickup order for Lowe's so that we can start getting things done, next week, and we picked out some paint chips. The picture doesn't really show the colors, but that was an adventure in it of itself. You would not believe how different the paint chips are from the samples on the website. They look white in the photo, below - we assure you, we do not intend to paint the room white!

Week 34 - Home is where Family is

This week, we eagerly prepared for a celebration. With great excitement, we welcomed our parents and sibling to our home to celebrate: * Independence Day * Kiersten's MBA Graduation * 1 Year Wedding Anniversary * The completed decoration of our home! In the final days leading up to this special occasion, we put the finishing touches on our home, becoming experts at measuring and hanging wall art - something our house has been desperately missing for way too long! Believe it or not, we signed the mortgage on this little place in November of 2018. So, the walls have been in desperate need of some personality. In much thanks to the generosity of our family and friends, we were able to fill it with several meaningful items, as well as a few selections of our own. It brought us great pride to show off our finished space to our immediate family. We have taken the time during quarantine to truly knock items off our project list and make this little house our own.

Week 36 - Maternity Photos

This week was a mixed bag of emotions. Over the course of the holiday weekend, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and visit from our favorite photographers to snap some maternity photos. This week, we took the time to review and selected some of our favorites for you to enjoy. Photos were hard for Kiersten - this pregnancy has brought a lot of weight gain which is hard for her to ignore when she sees photos of herself. You may have noticed that the bump pictures quickly disappeared a few weeks ago. Its been difficult for her to get excited about documenting these changes. However, we knew we would regret not making the effort. So, we put on clothes that make us feel good, armed ourselves with some of our biggest cheerleaders and took some pretty great photos. This week also brought about some very difficult decisions. As we have maneuvered the past several months, the global pandemic has had a profound impact on this pregnancy in ways we never cou...
